Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The No. 3 Georgia women’s tennis team concluded its regular season at 17-1 overall and a perfect 13-0 in conference action after defeating No. 17 Texas A&M 4-0 Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs finish undefeated in SEC play for the fifth time in program history and second time defeating all current SEC teams since the league expanded in 2012.

In doubles, Georgia set the tone early, earning the doubles point thanks to the No. 8 duo of Katarina Jokic and Ariana Arseneault defeating No. 39 Tatiana Makarova and Jayci Goldsmith. The pairing picked up their fifth top-50 win of the season with their 6-3 win. Elena Christofi and Morgan Coppoc also defeated their opponent 6-3, taking down Renee McBryde and Dorthea Faa-Hviding on court two. The national title marks Georgia’s seventh overall and is the most of any program in NCEA history.

“What an incredible day with terrific rides,” Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig said. “This team is so deserving and there are so many emotions running high. To SMU- they rode their hearts out and made it difficult for us. This group, particularly our seniors came out here after SECs and said, ‘We are not done. UGA and Alabama Splitting Five Stars?

Kirby Smart and staff have the Dawgs in on so many five stars that it’s hard to keep up sometimes.

One that doesn’t get mentioned enough is Enai White. UGA is BIG TIME in for the 5* from Philly. So much so, that it’s looking like Alabama and Georgia could split him and Jeremiah Alexander.

Many people are in the “believe it when I see it” mode on UGA stealing Alexander from Alabama. You better believe if we do, there’s no way they’ll let us pull White also.

The Philly connection with UGA is real with White. If we get him, they’ll do everything they can to keep their in-state guy.
