BULLDOGS WELCOME TIGERS TO TOWN

Second-ranked Georgia (5-0, 2-0 SEC) returns to Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium Saturday to play host to the Auburn Tigers (3-2, 1-1 SEC). Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised by CBS. Saturday will mark the 126th playing of the Deep South’s oldest rivalry. The Bulldogs hold a 62-56-8 advantage in the series including winning the past five meetings. This will be Auburn’s first road game of 2022 after playing its first five at home.

Last Saturday, the Bulldogs rallied past Missouri 26-22 in Columbia while LSU erased an early 17-0 deficit to beat Auburn 21-17. Auburn opened the year with wins over Mercer and San Jose State before No. 22 Penn State posted a 41-12 victory. The Tigers bounced back with a 17-14 win in overtime over Missouri and then closed out the five-game home stand with LSU. Saturday will be Auburn’s latest road opener since 2016 when it faced Mississippi State on Oct. 8.

The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 195-54 this year, but in the last two games, the Bulldogs have surrendered 22 apiece after Georgia’s first three foes combined to tally just 10 points.
