• Changes to traffic patterns and parking on East Campus.

• All University parking lots and parking decks will open starting at 7:00AM prior to kick-off. No entry will be permitted prior to this time.
• The traditional Athletic Association controlled lots will still be controlled by the association.
• The East Campus Road Parking Deck will be open available for fans to park in for a $20 fee. Visitors may pay through the ParkMobile app, which is available for download on iPhone and Android devices.
• $20 in the Health/Visitor Center parking E02 and E-10.
• Cash will not be accepted at parking lots.
• Parking at the Intramural Fields will open after the East Campus areas are full.
• Parking on sidewalks, grass or landscaped areas, unless directed by UGA personnel, is prohibited.
• Vehicles parking illegally are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.

Accessible seating will no longer be exchanged at the gates.

Georgia Will Tee It Up Between The Hedges For The First Four Games

Kirby Smart is in his eighth year at the helm, and after last Saturday, the Bulldogs are 8-0 in season openers. Overall, Smart’s Bulldogs are 82-15 including back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022. The Bulldogs rank ninth all-time in victories with 869.

Due to the cancellation of a previously scheduled matchup at Oklahoma (who now will join the SEC in 2024), Georgia plays host to four straight games to start the campaign and seven total in 2023. The last time the Bulldogs played four straight contests in Sanford Stadium was in 2004.

The last schedule that featured four home games to start a season was in 1999. That year, the Bulldogs went 4-0, beating Utah State, USC, UCF and LSU.

Georgia has tied the school record with 28 consecutive regular season victories dating back to a 31-24 home victory over Mississippi State on Nov. 21, 2020. The Bulldogs won 28 in a row from 1981-83. The NCAA’s longest active regular-season win streak belongs to Mount Union as the DIII school has won 55 in a row.

Bulldogs Prepare For The Cardinals Of Ball State

For the second straight week, Georgia will face a new foe as Ball State battles Georgia for the first time Between The Hedges Saturday at noon (SEC Network). The 2023 Bulldogs return nine players with starting experience on offense, including junior C Sedrick Van Pran and All-American and John Mackey Award winner junior TE Brock Bowers, who was the 2021 and 2022 leader in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns. Georgia ranked fifth nationally averaging 41.1 points per game last season and opened 2023 with a 48-7 win over UT Martin. A few offensive veterans did not suit up in the season opener and should bolster the unit when they return. These Bulldogs were starting wideouts junior Ladd McConkey and senior Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint along with senior running back Daijun Edwards. Also of note, senior Kendall Milton was not 100 percent but that wasn’t going to stop him from playing in the opener. He finished with a team-high 53 yards on nine carries including a 37-yarder.

UGA Football: No. 1 Bulldogs Stifle Skyhawks In Opener

ATHENS, Ga. — The two-time defending national champion Georgia football team opened its 2023 season by rolling past UT Martin, 48-7, on Saturday night at Sanford Stadium. The win was the Bulldogs’ 18th in a row overall, 19th in a row on Dooley Field, and Georgia tied the school record for regular-season wins in a row with its 28th, matching the great run of the 1981-83 teams.

Playing in front of a sold-out crowd of 92,746, the Bulldogs were in control throughout their takedown of the Skyhawks, an FCS program that plays in the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference, though the offense took a bit to get rolling. Georgia (1-0) finished with 559 of offense while the defense repeatedly stuffed Martin, holding it to 260 total yards.

Among the offensive players held out of the game were wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint; McConkey had 58 catches for 762 yards and seven touchdowns last season and Rosemy-Jacksaint had 29 for 337 yards. Still, the Bulldogs still had plenty of offensive weapons available, including one of the best players in the country in tight end Brock Bowers. The junior finished with five catches for 77 yards and scored on a three-yard run in less than three quarters of action.

Postgame Notes: The UT Martin Game at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium

*Season Opener: With today’s 48-7 victory, No. 1 Georgia has won 10 straight season openers including all eight under Kirby Smart.
Today marked Georgia’s first season opener at home since 2018 against Austin Peay (Bulldogs won 45-0). Since then, the Bulldogs kicked off a season with wins at Vanderbilt, Arkansas, versus #3 Clemson in Charlotte and last year against #11 Oregon in Atlanta. Also, today marked the official game debut of UGA XI or “Boom” who was introduced to the Bulldog Nation at the spring G-Day game this past April.

*Defense Blanks Skyhawks For Three Quarters:Top-ranked Georgia blanked the Skyhawks until 6:39 left in the contest when they scored a TD on a nine-yard completion to Trevonte Rucker from Kinkead Dent to finish a 12 play, 75-yard drive that made it 38-7. UT Martin finished with 260 yards of offense on 63 plays. In the first half UT Martin was held to 89 yards on 24 plays.
Tonight, Georgia’s leading tacklers were sophomore safety Malaki Starks with eight and senior star Tykee Smith with six including a TFL. Sophomore DE Mykel Williams had a sack. Williams led the team last year with 4.5 sacks. Freshman Kyron Jones registered a pick-six, covering 26 yards to make it 48-7. It marked the 28th score on either defense or special teams in the Kirby Smart era. It was the first Bulldog pick-six since Kelee Ringo’s 79-yarder to help clinch the CFP national championship against top-ranked Alabama on Jan. 10, 2022.
