UGA Football: David Pollack Elected to Hall of Fame

ATHENS — Former University Georgia three-time All-American defensive end David Pollack has been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame according to an announcement of the 2020 class Wednesday by the National Football Foundation.

Pollack was surprised with the announcement while on the air during an ESPN Sports Center appearance.

Pollack is the 15th former Bulldog player elected to the Hall of Fame along with four former coaches.  While he gained national fame as a player, Pollack has also been on the national stage in recent years as one of the hosts of the ESPN signature college football show, College Gameday.

“We are extremely proud to announce the 2020 College Football Hall of Fame Class,” said Archie Manning, NFF Chairman and a 1989 College Football Hall of Famer from Mississippi. “Each of these men has established himself among the absolute best to have ever played or coached the game, and we look forward to immortalizing their incredible accomplishments.”

UGA Football: Kirby Smart Makes Massive Hire for the Last On-Field Coaching Position

Kirby Smart has filled the last on-field open coaching spot by hiring Alabama strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran. It is thought that Cochran might be the special teams coordinator, although nothing has officially been announced. If you remember, Cochran is one of the first hires Kirby tried to make when he took the head coaching position at UGA. At the time, we tried to get him to make the lateral move and lead the strength and conditioning in Athens. Cochran and Kirby have been very close, beginning with their time together at Alabama. It is also pretty well known that their wives are best friends.
