Dawgs on Top for Offensive Lineman?

Don’t be surprised if UGA leads for Addison Nichols. As a matter of fact, I was told that we are currently the team to beat. Ohio State is a player, but not as much as the Volunteers of Tennessee.

Nichols and his family are a big time Vol family. Obviously, they’re nowhere near competing for anything right now except a bottom tier bowl game. Of course Tate Ratledge’s family was a big Vol family as well and we see how that went.

If the Vols were anywhere close to looking like some kind of contender again, he would likely already be committed there. Look for UGA to probably pull this one out after visits.

Latest Offer a Game Changer

One of the most recent offers that UGA put out was to Derrick Moore, a 2022 defensive end from powerhouse St Frances Academy in Baltimore.

This offer has everything to do with him being close with our latest commit De’Nylon Morrissette, who played at St Frances before he came to Brookwood (now at North Cobb).

We’ve been told Morrissette is all over Moore and others to join him in Athens.

Now to find room for all of these defensive linemen.

Looks Like UGA Could Lose One to the Transfer Portal

Despite rumors going around and the probability that UGA will lose at least one player to the transfer portal, that player WILL NOT be MJ Sherman.

One reason this slow time of the year sucks so bad is that the rumors run rampant. The latest was a big one.  It went from UGA losing a defender to the transfer portal to UGA losing MJ Sherman to the transfer portal.

While we are told that Sherman may not necessarily be happy with his spot in the depth chart right now, he doesn’t blame the coaches. I was told the rumor probably started from him voicing some type of frustration to teammates and the rumor just getting bigger from there.

Again, at worst it’s just a younger player not used to not playing and nothing serious.

Now, the next rumored is Major Burns. This is a name multiple people have mentioned as considering a transfer. If you remember, he came very close to making that decision once already.

EDIT – one to really watch is Daran Branch, who may be quitting football altogether. I’d really keep an eye on this one.

SIDENOTE – patreon is acting silly and won’t let me check my messages for some reason. if you need me, email me at jasonb383838@yahoo.com or get my attention in the daily chat on FSF

PREDICTION – Dawgs Will Get Another Five Star

I’ve heard enough to go ahead and put in my prediction for 5* DL Travis Shaw to UGA.

Yes he is his own man, but Jalon Walker coming on board was huge. I also think that UNC is a bigger threat tan Clemson right now. That’s not surprising since it’s the home state, but many thought for a while early on that he was Clemson’s to lose.

We’ve heard now that he’s UGA’s to lose!

GO DAWGS!!!

Should UGA Worry About 5* Commit Visiting Elsewhere?

No matter what commit it is, all schools should be recruiting them the same as they were before they made their decision. You recruit him like he’s not committed until he signs his  national letter of intent. Everyone else will be recruiting your guys too.

Saying that, Texas A&M is still going hard after Bear Alexander. It was a pretty big upset when UGA nabbed the 5* and you know Jimbo Fisher and company weren’t happy.

The Aggies were able to get the Big Bear in town for their spring game. Is that something we should be concerned about?

Of course every team wants their commits to never visit anywhere else and to show up every weekend and recruit for their team. That’s just not realistic. These guys are going to take visits. I was told that Bear and his guardian have let Kirby and company know their plans and there is nothing to worry about with him taking visits. That was always the plan and A LOT more guys will after June 1st.

As much as Aggie fans want this to be a drawn out and crazy recruitment, we’re told Bear is very solid right now and will stay solid unless something big changes.

Commit Coming SOON?

UGA should be getting good news VERY SOON in the 2022 class. One of our subscribers was the first to let me know (comment below if you want it to be known).

Asked around after that and I was told by one other person that would very much know that De’Nylon Morrissette should be on the commit list next and it will be SOON.

If that happens, he’d be UGA’s first receiver commit. Evan Stewart and Kojo Antwi are the top 2 targets at the position.

UGA’s Best DL Class We’ve Ever Had?

We have one post today saying that I’ve never been more confident in getting Mykel Williams. I’ll go one step further here and say he’s the most likely to be a Dawg along side Oscar Delp and Branson Robinson.

He’s not the only defensive lineman that I have very high confidence in getting. For a while I wasn’t sure if Christen Miller would be the odd man out with all of the 5* defensive linemen we’re after. Right now, I’d be surprised if we didn’t get him.

IMG to UGA Pipeline?

IMG Academy has been good to UGA in the past, especially when it comes to former in-state players coming back home to play for UGA. This year is different, as most of the guys we’re after aren’t originally from the state of Georgia.

This might just be the year where they send to most prospects to play their college ball in Athens. The Dawgs are big time in it for a few IMG prospects:

CB Daylen Everette – Clemson probably leads right now, but this is far from over. UGA is really starting to turn up the heat on the 4* DB.

OL Tyler Booker – He’s very high on Alabama and Florida, but we really believe UGA leads right now. As a matter of fact, more than one person has told me that he’s a silent commit to the Dawgs.

S Kamari Wilson – He’s the one to most likely be a Dawg. Another we’ve been told is a silent commit. He actually had UGA Commit on his instagram account before someone pointed it out.

RB Kaytron Allen – He’s one that I believe we can easily get if we push. He says we’re one of the top 4 going after him. We already have Jordan James committed and we lead for Branson Robinson, and I doubt very seriously we take 3 RB. Let’s see what happens here.

WDE Jihaad Campbell – Here’s another recruit UGA is really turning up the heat on. Think probbaly a little ways to go on him.

S Keon Sabb – He’s one that we weren’t sure how interested he was in the Dawgs, but UGA has a good bit of momentum right now. We’d love to bring the safety combo of Wilson and Sabb. And yes they’d both be take with Malaki Starks already on board.

I could see the Dawgs getting 4 out of the 6 listed above. Three may be more likely, and this is just the 2022 guys. It looks like most of them will all take their OV together to Athens on June 18th.

Arik Gilbert Rumors

We heard the rumors about Arik Gilbert being interested in transferring to UGA and asked around.

There is SOME truth to the rumor. From what we’ve been told from someone who would definitely know, he has been in contact with our staff/players and is very interested in playing in Athens. He’s also interested in returning to LSU.

I was told that we’re not overly confident in getting him to Athens, mainly because of his academic issues. LSU is likely the only one that can get him in IF they’re able to get some of the classes he quit turned in to incompletes so he can finish them up.

I would say the chances of him being in Athens are very slim. It wouldn’t take a miracle to get him in, but close to it.

What’s Going on With WR Recruiting?

After a small 2021 class of receivers (only Adonai Mitchell and Jackson Meeks), the 2022 class will be very important. Add to the amount of injuries we’ve had at the position, and we need bodies!

One target I don’t believe we’re really after is Sam Mbake, a 6’4 in-state receiver. He was a big name early on, but I don’t think he has the speed we’re looking for. Another I doubt we get is 5* Kevin Coleman.

Two top overall targets are Kojo Antwi and Evan Stewart. We probably trail A&M for Antwi right now. He recently went to see his brother in Texas and practiced with A&M 5* QB commit Conner Weigman. Stewart recently decommitted from Texas and we’re calling our shot that UGA is the team to beat.

De’nylon Morrissette is one that has had Alabama in the lead, but REALLY wants to play with 7on7 teammates Gunner Stockton and Oscar Delp.

Two that aren’t talked about near enough are Andre Greene and Shaleak Knotts. As a matter of fact, they could easily be two of our commits. Add Morrissette and say we get one of either Antwi or Stewart

Also, don’t forget about 4* Antonio Williams or 3* Marcus Peterson.

PERFECT SCENARIO

1. Get Antwi AND Stewart

2. Take 5 or tell one of these three no (Knotts, Greene, Morrissette)

A Silent Commit for the Dawgs?

More than one person (including one in the recruiting industry) that 5* safety Kamari Wilson is a silent commit for UGA.  I have heard a couple of different things on his plans to go public, so let’s just leave that part of it as a ??? for now.

UGA and Alabama Splitting Five Stars?

Kirby Smart and staff have the Dawgs in on so many five stars that it’s hard to keep up sometimes.

One that doesn’t get mentioned enough is Enai White. UGA is BIG TIME in for the 5* from Philly. So much so, that it’s looking like Alabama and Georgia could split him and Jeremiah Alexander.

Many people are in the “believe it when I see it” mode on UGA stealing Alexander from Alabama. You better believe if we do, there’s no way they’ll let us pull White also.

The Philly connection with UGA is real with White. If we get him, they’ll do everything they can to keep their in-state guy.

What’s Up With Alabama and Top 5* Dawg Target?

Most of you know that Mykel Williams is from my stomping ground, Columbus. I’m as close to his recruitment as I have been almost any others over the years.

Alabama is definitely trying to make a move, even getting him to their spring game Saturday instead of Athens.

STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH – It’s nothing to worry about, he’s still going to be  a Dawg.

Now I’ve been wrong before (recruiting is a tough business), but the main time I’ve been bad wrong is when Reuben Foster lied straight to my face. Unless that’s happening again, I’m very confident in Williams being a Dawg. And him/his dad are not the type to play that kind of game.
