Scott Cochran/Will Muschamp
With Cochran out, Will Muschamp is now an on-field coach. Meaning that he’ll be able to go out recruiting with the other 9 during the fall.
I do not know his official title yet.

Okay, Scott Cochran not being with the team didn’t come out of nowhere. He hasn’t been with the team for a week or two.
Here’s what I’ve heard directly – 1) He is dealing with a personal issue. 2) It is believed that he will be back. 3) It is not 100% that he will be back. 4) He didn’t leave on his own accord 5) It’s not just up to him whether he comes back or not.
Here’s what we’ve heard indirectly and not confirmed – 1) it’s Covid/vaccine related. Again, this is just one of the things going around. Posting this rumor because it would kind of make sense, but in other ways it doesn’t. Ton of other rumors going around, none worth mentioning until we get more.
Will update again as we find out more.
Just a quick hitter on a top 5* target.
I was told today by someone that would REALLY KNOW that 5* Walter Nolen made a silent commitment.
The only problem is that he made one to UGA and to Florida.
I know we need to continue to the Hit/Cold Temperature Series. We have about 3 of those left. I wanted to wait until after this weekends visits to make sure we know everything we can.
Speaking of this weekends visits:
I was told that UGA made a HUGE impression on the Mannings on their trip late this week. A big enough impression that I would ;put the Dawgs squarely in the top 3 with Texas and Clemson.
I’ve also head that we hit a homerun with Walter Nolen this weekend. Now he seems to be very impressionable on visits, but I was told this was a different kind of visit than that. I believe Kirby and staff got down to serious business before the scavenger hunt.
It’s VERY interesting that Deni-Dennis Sutton’s coach visited on his own while he was “in the area.” Penn State is going to be hard to beat, but UGA obviously has his attention.
One that I’m honestly not sure about until after his UNC visit is Travis Shaw. I had one person tell me that UGA made such a big move last weekend that it almost doesn’t matter what UNC does this weekend. And this person is one that never gets overly excited and hardly ever steers me the wrong way. Another person told me that it’s neck and neck, which is what I was also thinking. But the “UGA made a big move” guy is my guy and isn’t wrong much.
TEMPERATURE CHECK CONTINUED COMING TOMORROW
One of UGA’s top overall targets will be making a decision sooner than he’s preciously announced. At one time it looked like 5* S Kamari Wilson could wait until early signing day.
I was told today that he’s getting ready to make a decision after all of the visits he just took. I do not have an exact timeline yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in July or early August. Kirby seems to make his living off of July commits.
Temperature Check Part 2 Coming Tomorrow with an update on a ton of recruits.
This will be a three part series on where UGA stands with our top 2022 targets. We’ll gauge the temperature of the recruitments in regards to UGA.
There are six categories – 1) Sizzling Hot, 2) Hot, 3) Heating Up, 4) Lukewarm, 5) Cold, 6) Freezing Cold
Today we’ll cover the extreme of both sides:
FREEZING COLD
1) EVAN STEWART – Was set to visit and hasn’t showed up the entire month. Evidently receivers coach Cortez Hankton pissed him off enough that we’re no longer in his recruitment.
2) BEAR ALEXANDER – Recently decommitted right after saying he bleeds red and black. I don’t see him back in this class at all with the way things went down.
COLD
1) MYKEL WILLIAMS – Just committed to Southern Cal. I was told by more than one coach in the Columbus area that we weren’t recruiting him as hard as others.
2) CHRISTEN MILLER – Will likely head to Southern Cal with Mykel. He said himself that we’re not recruiting him hard.
3) DENVER HARRIS – Was set to visit Athens sometime this week, but it looks like he’ll visit somewhere else. If that changes again and he visits then we’ll move him
SIZZLING HOT
1) BRANSON ROBINSON – Announced that he is committing on July 22nd. It’s the worst kept secret in all of recruiting that he’s All Dawg.
2) DANI DENNIS-SUTTON – Dawgs battling Penn State and Alabama, with the Crimson Tide likely running third. Has taken official visits to all 3 programs. Have him in this category because he is supposed to make it to Athens again before the end of the month. That’s a VERY GOOD sign.
3) KOJO ANTWI – Committing July 5th. USC is his last OV this weekend. Texas A&M has led in different parts of his recruitment, but might be running third now. Ohio State might just be our biggest challenger here. Alabama is in it, but don’t think he goes there.
4) CARLTON MADDEN – Cedar Grove linebacker that just decommitted from Colorado after Georgia offering. Had to play junior varsity at Cedar Grove last year due to transfer rules after he came in from Arabia Mountain. He’s ours as long as he takes the spot soon.
If you haven’t already, one thing you’ll learn with Kirby Smart is that he will replace a five star with another five star. With Bear Alexander decommitting recently and not expected to be back in this class, that’s exactly what he’s trying to do with Travis Shaw.
The 4* DL was in town for his official visit this weekend with UGA commit Jalon Walker by his side almost the entire time. We’ve been told that not only did UGA make a move for the big man, the Dawgs are his outright leader.
We still have to get through the visit high wearing off and his OV to UNC this weekend, but as of now UGA sits in the top spot. We’ve also been told that this is a two team race between UGA and UNC, with Clemson now a distant third.
Don’t be surprised if ’23 offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner is the next to commit to UGA. e will be on campus soon with his family and is in love with UGA. We are his leader by far and he has already been on campus once this summer. If what I’m told is right, he could very well pull the trigger before Madden Sanker.
Joiner is now at Auburn High, where he followed his coach from Oxford, Alabama. He and Drew Bobo will be teammates this season. He looked very good against the top competition at the Rivals Five Star Challenge.
We’ll have more to come soon on the huge visitors list this weekend.
You don’t get them all right and this is one I honestly was not ready for. I’m pretty close with most of the high school coaches in the Columbus/Phenix City area. Those close to Mykel Williams, specifically one of his coaches and one family member have been saying all of the right things about UGA.
Here’s where I messed up. I didn’t take into consideration that UGA might not be recruiting him as hard as others. And I know, I know………………this might sound like one of those “we didn’t want him anyways” excuses but I promise this isn’t what that is. I 100% think we would have taken his commitment if he wanted to do it, but I was told that he told one local coach that UGA wasn’t all in on recruiting him. And that was straight from that coach’s mouth.
He could very well stick with Southern Cal, but it’s June. Let’s see what happens and if UGA ramps up the attention.
It has finally come out that 5* corner Jaheim Singletary will take an official visit to UGA.
This is normally something I would have already posted here, but I made a promise to not say anything…………………”not even on patreon. So I kept that promise.
Now that it is out, I can say that his OV next weekend won’t be the first time he’s visited since committing to Ohio State. It also won’t be the last. Look for him to make at least one game in the fall.
From what I’ve been told, this isn’t just a “let me check something else out”. This is a legit flip watch.
Well, you win some and you lose some. You can’t blame recruits for wanting to look around and find the right place for them. You also can’t blame them for wanting to make money off of their name, image, and likeness.
But when you lose out on a five star because of your own doing, it stings in a different way. That is what is going on right now with 5* receiver, Evan Stewart. He almost committed to UGA once before and we were all over him after he decommitted from Texas.
Now he is not happy with UGA, Coach Cortez Hankton in particular. Obviously nobody knows exactly what was said unless they were in the room, but the “miscommunication” happened when discussing the importance of football over creating social media content.
I was told that we are not completely out of it for him, but we have A LOT of work to do to fix this one and actually get a visit.
I said this yesterday on Bouie:
“We have seen the rumors of another decommit, and the most popular name to throw around is 5* DB Deyon Bouie. That’s probably because he visited A&M with Bear. Although he will continue to take his visits, including at least one more to A&M, I’m told Bouie will be a Dawg in the end.”
I was just told tonight after his decommitment that the last part still stands. As a matter of fact, he sounded even more confident about Bouie being a Dawg AFTER he decommitted.
SIDENOTE – More coming later, but look for good news this weekend (Not Bouie Related).
It wasn’t very surprising that 5* Bear Alexander decommitted from UGA, as it was always going to be a battle to keep him. The timing of it was somewhat surprising until you find out that we wanted him to stay longer and he instead went home and visited A&M. While Kirby and company do a pretty good job of getting decommits back in the fold, it’s hard to see that happening here. Not completely out of the question, as he will likely still visit, but it’ll be a steep uphill battle.

I’m also told the one to keep an eye on is 4* DB Marquis Groves-Killebrew. It looks as if we may be recruiting over him. I’d watch his official visit to Michigan.
OTHER NOTES
Walter Nolen will go until signing day. He’s ready to commit after every visit he takes.
I have not heard anything else on Brandon Turnage, but I did hear that the offer to Tulsa transfer DB Akayleb Evans stands whether Turnage stays or goes.
I’ve also been told that Aaron Bryant is VERY HIGH on our board and has been, even when Bear was committed
Here’s what we’ve heard on this past weekend’s official visitors:
Branson Robinson was on cloud 9. All this did was re-affirm where he wants to go. One person said, “there’s no way he goes anywhere but UGA”
There’s never a lock in recruiting, but it wasn’t quite as much of a runaway for Oscar Delp as I thought for UGA. I still think he comes here, but mainly because we answered a lot of questions this weekend.
Gunner and Morrissette are recruiting their tails off.
Let the visit high wear off, but even after that I would say that UGA leads for Dani Dennis-Sutton. The same person said, “we knocked it out of the park with him.”
I’ll try to get something on Aaron Bryant.
WHAT I KNOW – I am told that as of last night a final decision has not been made by Turnage. I was also told by another person that he is not officially in the transfer portal from UGA. Don’t expect this to play out very long.
WHAT I THINK –
1. There’s obviously something going on here, but his tweet backs up the fact that a final decision hasn’t been made as of late last night (6-6-21).
2. The offer to Akayleb Evans is a two-part message to Turnage. Sh%$ or get off the pot and we need another experienced DB ready to play regardless of Derion Kendrick.
3. I think reports are correct that he’s not in Athens, but I don’t think he has gone as far as packing his stuff for good.
It also gives UGA the leverage in the situation
PREDICTION – There’s too much smoke for this to just go away, so I’ll predict that he doesn’t stick with UGA. Kirby and company have been known to work some magic in recruiting. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
I was told tonight that Kirby Smart and his staff knocked it out of the park with the five stars in town yesterday. Out of the 202 class we had Mykel Williams and Jeremiah Alexander visiting, with Peter Woods and Tony Mitchell visiting from the 2023 class.
Mykel Williams is still a big Dawg lean and I still 110% expect him to be a Dawg, even if he has slowed his recruitment down some.
Of course the other three are teammates at powerhouse Thompson High in Alabaster, which is Bamaland.
Watch UGA very closely with the 2023 guys. Neither Woods or Mitchell are dead set on staying in Alabama to play their college ball and UGA is a team to beat early here.
I’ve also been told that Jeremiah just named Clemson his leader because they’re at least telling him he can play the edge and rush the passer there. UGA and Alabama like him more as an inside backer. It will be interesting to see what happens here and to see how much of this is recruiting games.
