UGA Football: Injury Report from Kirby Smart at SEC Media Days

Kirby said Branson Robinson is looking good:

“He looks really good. I won’t say he’s 100 percent cleared, but man, he looks great out there running, His weight is down, which I think is going to put less pressure on that injury and those knees. He looks good running around out there. I’ve been really pleased with the way he’s looked. I don’t know if he’ll be 100 percent at the start of camp, but I feel like he’ll be close.”

Kirby said that Malaki Starks is participating in daily activities and that he wasn’t even thinking of Starks as an injury guy:

“Malaki’s great, typical surgery, shoulder surgery we have, labrum repair. He’s been on schedule. He actually did some things in spring practice non-contact. I wasn’t even thinking of him as an injury guy,”

Kirby said he thinks Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins will be ready to go by fall camp:

“Ty Ingram-Dawkins is battling to come back. He had a significant foot injury that we think he’ll be good to go by camp. But it’s something that you have to be really smart about the load and the amount of work you put on it. Smael’s still battling back. I don’t know if he’ll be cleared for fall camp or not. He should be close.”

He wasn’t so sure about Smael Mondon being ready for fall camp.

He also confirmed that offensive lineman Kelton Smith has taken a medical disqualification.

UGA Football: Kirby Smart Gives High Praise to KJ Bolden

Says he’s ahead of where Malaki Starks was at the same point:

“I think KJ Bolden has a chance to really help us out,” Smart said. “He’s athletic, he’s intelligent, he comes from a really good high school program. He got 15 practices in the spring and he approaches every practice like a veteran. Like where he is right now is probably ahead of probably where Malaki (Starks) was at that time and Malaki was able play as a freshman. I’m excited about what KJ is gonna do.”
