UGA Football: Kirby Smart Releases Statement on Scott Cochran

“Coach Cochran is currently dealing with health issues and is taking time to prioritize his mental health and well-being,” Bulldog head coach Kirby Smart said in a statement released via UGA Sports Information. “We fully support him as he takes this time to focus on his well-being.”

With Cochran out, Will Muschamp is now an on-field coach. Meaning that he’ll be able to go out recruiting with the other 9 during the fall.

I do not know his official title yet.

Scott Cochran No Longer With Team – What We Know

Okay, Scott Cochran not being with the team didn’t come out of nowhere. He hasn’t been with the team for a week or two.

Here’s what I’ve heard directly – 1) He is dealing with a personal issue. 2) It is believed that he will be back. 3) It is not 100% that he will be back. 4) He didn’t leave on his own accord 5) It’s not just up to him whether he comes back or not.

Here’s what we’ve heard indirectly and not confirmed – 1) it’s Covid/vaccine related. Again, this is just one of the things going around. Posting this rumor because it would kind of make sense, but in other ways it doesn’t. Ton of other rumors going around, none worth mentioning until we get more.
