UGA Women’s Gymnastics: GymDogs Fall to Alabama in Final Road Test
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The No. 10 University of Georgia gymnastics team finished with strong performances on floor and beam, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit from the first two rotations as the GymDogs fell to No. 8 Alabama, 197.450-196.050, on Saturday night inside Coleman Coliseum.
“Tonight was definitely a hard loss because you never want to count a fall in your score, but what I saw from this team gives me faith in what they are going to do when it comes to postseason,” Georgia head coach Courtney Kupets Carter said. “They fought through. They had so much energy. There was so much passion for what they were doing and they celebrated all of the little things that they did well. I’m really proud and really excited because this team has so much in them.”
The GymDogs struggled on bars to start the meet. Megan Roberts stuck a solid routine and received a 9.850 to lead the squad on the event.
