UGA Women’s Basketball: Georgia Defeats NC Central, 96-52, In Dominant Season Opener

The Georgia Lady Bulldogs opened the 2024-25 women’s basketball season with a win over the North Carolina Central Eagles, 96-52, on Monday afternoon. A dominant debut by Georgia’s freshmen contributed significantly to the victory.

  • Georgia started freshmen Trinity Turner and Mia Woolfolk in their win. The last time the Lady Dogs started two freshmen in a season opener was in the 1997-98 season. (Kelly Miller, Coco Miller, and Elena Vishniakova).
  • Indya and Summer Davis are the first sisters to take the court together for Georgia since Kara and Kim Braxton in 2004. The Davis sisters are also the fourth set of twins to play for the Lady Dogs.
