“What really stood out was talking to coach Smart and getting an understanding of his vision for that program,” Winters told DawgsHQ. “I also saw why they’ve been so successful and the reason they put guys in the NFL is because they do things the way that the NFL does them now.”
“It’s really just about continuing to build a relationship with coach T-Rob and coach Schumann it’s a great environment and a place where I could be the best version of myself,” Winters said. “We had some what of a connection while he (Robinson) was at Alabama but him being at Georgia helped them with guys. He beat Georgia at South Carolina, that’s the only time that they’ve lost to them was when coach T-Rob was the defensive coordinator. Having those guys on the staff that know what they’re doing is pretty special.”
