Smith spoke with Dawgs247 – “It was pretty obvious they were coming at me full. Coach BMac hit me up and said he had some good looks for me. He let me know they were going to be coming for me,” Smith said. “We had a 7-on-7 tournament, and that was the first time we actually got to meet in person. He saw us playing and was like, you’re the real deal, but just wait until I get my hands on you.”
“I actually just talked to Coach Kirby Smart right before I went to Colorado for a visit. He wished me good luck on the visit, but he was talking real terms about me going there,” Smith said. “I was definitely happy he called. It was crazy. He was basically like, we need big receivers. We need guys who can go up and get the ball. He told me I’ve got that dog in me. I was here for it.”
