UGA Women’s Tennis: Georgia Wins Battle of the Bulldogs, 4-0

Starkville, Miss. – The No. 7 Georgia women’s tennis team picked up their third straight sweep in as many matches, defeating Mississippi State 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs improve to 8-2 on the season overall and 3-0 in conference play.

In doubles, it was once again the two ranked duos clinching the doubles point for Georgia. No. 54 Meg Kowalski and Morgan Coppoc defeated Marta Falceto and Sara Lizariturry 6-2 on court three. No. 30 Katarina Jokic and Anna Hertel defeated No. 56 Magda Adaloglou and Tamara Racine 6-3 on court one picking up their second ranked win this weekend. Lea Ma and Elena Christofi went unfinished on court two, tied four-all.

In singles, courts four, five and six all picked up wins for the second straight match to clinch the win for the Bulldogs. Hertel continued her dominant weekend defeating Alexandra Mikhailuk 6-1, 6-2 on court four. No. 122 Christofi defeated Falceto 6-3, 6-3 on court six and No. 85 Coppoc sealed the deal with a win on court five defeating Valeria Nikolaev 6-2, 6-3.

Georgia returns home to take on Florida on March 13 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex with first serve set for 4 p.m.
